چکیده

We propose a method for detecting (i.e. estimating and testing) the zones where a variable irregularly sampled in the plane changes abruptly. Under the null hypothesis the variable of interest is the realisation of a stationary Gaussian process with constant expectation. The alternative is that the mean function presents abrupt changes. Local test statistics are first built using distribution properties of the estimated gradient under the null hypothesis. The points where the local test statistics is above a determined threshold define potential Zones of Abrupt Change (ZACs). We then design a global test to assess the global significance of the potential ZACs. The theory that links the threshold and the global level is based on the asymptotic distribution of excursion sets of nonstationary χ2 fields for which new results are established. Issues arising when implementing the method are discussed and the method is evaluated by a simulation study. Its application to a soil data set from an agricultural field shows how it can be used in an exploratory analysis for proposing a subdivision of the domain.

Spatial analysis of rural groundwater resources in order to identify critical zones (Case study: Mahidasht watershed in Kermanshah province, Iran)

Introduction According to the theoretical frameworks in the spatial analysis, every "structure" in space has a specific "function". To study phenomena and to identify the relationships between them, these two concepts are of particular importance, especially in the "structural-functional dynamism" approach. The basic premise of this approach is based on the existence of a link between the stru...

Analyzing Climate Zooning and Climate Change Effects on Discharge of Jajrood River Basin

In this study, for climate zoning and determining the effects of climate change on discharge of Jajrood River Basin, data from 9 available stations in Jajrood River Basin were used. In order to create climatic zones in the Jajrood River Basin, multivariate cluster analysis was used. To validate the data, discriminant analysis was employed. For investigating the effects of temperature and precip...

Spatial dynamics of Phlebotomus sand-fly ecological condition in response to climate change

Background: Changing the climatic pattern can lead to major changes in the geographical distribution of infectious diseases. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of climate change on the favorable bio-climatological zone for leishmaniasis sand-fly living which is a vector of Leishmania in Iran. Materials and Methods: Data of the climatic factors affecting the biology of sandflies...

Spatial Correlation Testing for Errors in Panel Data Regression Model

To investigate the spatial error correlation in panel regression models, various statistical hypothesizes and testings have been proposed. This paper, within introduction to spatial panel data regression model, existence of spatial error correlation and random effects is investigated by a joint Lagrange Multiplier test, which simultaneously tests their existence. For this purpose, joint Lagrang...
